A Red Skirt

Author: Pablo Picasso
A Red Skirt. 1901

Yesterday I was running along the Vltava river and all the road was lined by the poppies, so today I did not hesitate to persuade Natty to become Poppy Doll á la Picasso...:)

Harlequin Leaning

Original:

Author: Pablo Picasso
Harlequin Leaning. 1901

I know Picasso's paintings very well, all my childhood I used to browse in the books with his paintings before going asleep My mum was giving the art books to me instead of fairytale books...:)

Blue Dancer

Original:

Author: Alexander Archipenko
Blue Dancer. 1913-18

Natálka si teď oblíbila dětský pořad Jogínci a stále vymýšlí různé asány, např. tato pozice by se mohla jmenovat Plameňák pod stromem:)

These days Natty likes watching and practing children yoga on TV  so she is inventing new asanas all the time... This could be called: "Flamingo under the tree" :)

Portrait of Dr. Gachet

 Original:

Author: Vincent van Gogh
Portrait of Dr. Gachet. 1890

Vincent van Gogh's first impression of Gachet was unfavorable. Writing to Theo he remarked: "I think that we must not count on Dr. Gachet at all. First of all, he is sicker than I am, I think, or shall we say just as much, so that's that. Now when one blind man leads another blind man, don't they both fall into the ditch?" However, in a letter dated two days later to their sister Wilhelmina, he relayed, "I have found a true friend in Dr. Gachet, something like another brother, so much do we resemble each other physically and also mentally."

Young Woman Reading

Original:

Author: Emile Leopold Stevens
Girl Reading. 1929

My grandma asked me to wash her curtains and as you can see when I saw them I had to use them as a big skirt with petticoat...:)

Cambodian Dancer

Original:

Author: Auguste Rodin
Cambodian Dancer. 1906

When Auguste Rodin met the troupe of dancers for the first time in July 1906, during their brief visit to Paris for an exceptional performance at the Pré Catalan theatre, it was like a revelation to him. He was struck by the timeless and universal nature of the movements of this dance, which transformed this relatively unknown form of art into a manifestation of the universal principle of the “unity of nature” through time and space.

Three Faces

Original:

Author:Ernst Ludwig Kirchner
Three Faces. 1929

Today I wanted to make the picture of all my kids to have a new photo on my PC screen and  so I found Kirchner's portrait of three in one fell...I remember as a pupil I was taught to draw one fell only house and pig...:)

The Time of the Lilacs

Original:

Author: Sophie Gengembre Anderson
The Time of the Lilac. 1870

I really love this time of the year when lilacs are blooming. Yesterday I brought some home and today in the morning I wanted to keep the feeling I had when all the apartment was fulfilled by their scent...

Hugging Bird

 Original:

Author: Kaoru Kawano
Hugging Bird. 1950

Recently, Viky is blown away by the birds, he is the first who hears them, when we are approaching the park, he likes to share his snack with all the pigeons in Prague and, unfortunately for us, parents, he loves waking up very early to listen to their morning singing...:)
